Bleibt gesund

Hope…is a funny thing. 20 years ago I would have told you that the Apocalypse is coming, that we are losing the war. But now? We are getting even with our enemies. It’s still not IT, but hey we have people like you to carry the torch when we are gone. And so we have hope that we won't be the last. – Jeremiah Moonkill, Philodox Elder of the Crying Waters sept

Ok! Listen up pups! This is important, take notice and try not to forget it, or you’ll run errands for old Paws-of-Iron ‘till you drop dead. As you may have noticed or not, you are the youngest members of this here sept. What’s a sept? Well it’s every ‘wolf that lives in a caern, and don’t tell me that you don’t know what a caern is.
WE are Garou, skinchangers, werewolves. But we aren’t all the same, mind you. Let’s start from the very top. We are members of the Garou Nation, it’s not a nation with borders but more like an extended tribe, like the Navaho for example. Almost every Garou is a member. Who isn’t? Well small groups here and there like the Hakken in Japan or the Kucha Ekundu in Africa. So as you can see it’s the distance. The Garou Nation consists of 14 Tribes, I will speak about them later. The tribes are of regional origin, for example the Fianna are of Celtic heritage and the Get are of Germanic, not German, heritage. There are two exemptions from this rule, the Furies and the Talons, the former is an all girls club and the latter a tribe of wolves. The Tribes themselves are divided into groups, some official some not. Here’s where our own divisions end, the rest was made by Luna and we can’t change it, not that we want to.
Every Tribe is divided into two Breeds, Homid and Lupus. The third? What Third? This third. There is a third Breed, the Metis, and it’s completely new to us. Metis are born out of a union of two werewolves, something that was impossible earlier. We don’t know what they can do but their blessings seem to be different from those of other breeds. The Homids come from human stock and have been raised in the human culture, the Lupus come from wolves. Every tribe has Homid and Lupus members save for the Talons, they are all Lupus, besides them the Walkers seem to have less and less Lupus among them.

Every single one of us belongs to a lunar auspice, it’s 50% a job and 50% our natural calling. There are five of them all tied to Luna and her phases.
The first one is Ragabash, I’m one of them, we serve the Nation as spies, tricksters, scouts and make sure the rest does not take itself too seriously. Every Ragabash was born under the no moon, those born under the waning moon are known for their grim paws-on approach and those born under the waxing moon are quite easy going with their duties.
The second is Theurge, the mystics and ghost-talkers, they are responsible for the rites and our spiritual side. We may be Luna’s warriors but we need to pay our respects to the spirits and the theurges make sure of that. All theurges are born under the sickle moon, those born under the waning moon force the spirits into submission and those born under the waxing moon are great diplomats among the spirits.
The third and sometimes most important is the Philodox, the peace-keeper and judge. Philodox make sure our rage does not get the better of us and that we follow the rules. It’s harder than you think it is. Philodox are born under the half moon, waning moon Philodox are perfectionists trying to get everything right while waxing moon Philodox are aloof and detached, trying to be always objective.
The fourth is the Galliard, the storyteller and record keeper. Besides making sure we don’t forget what we are, they give us the edge by reminding us of ancient times and by using parables help to clear away planning obstacles in our way. They’ll also chew your ear off with legends and other not really interesting stuff. Try not to look bored when they speak, they hit almost as hard as the Ahroun. Waning moons are all doom and gloom, warfare and bloodshed. Waxing moons are happy hippies singing about sunny things and better days.
Last and never the least are the mighty Ahroun, our warriors and bullet stoppers. In a race of warriors they are at the top, when it comes to glory and short life-spans. I have frightened you, didn’t I? Don’t be, every single Ahroun is a defiant finger shown to the Wyrm, he’s the guy who comes to deal with the ‘yard bully. Without them we would not exist. Waning moon Ahroun are dominant and often become leaders, waxing moon Ahroun are cauldrons brimming with rage wishing to constantly prove themselves in a fight.

We have dealt with the breeds and the auspices, so now it's time to deal with the tribes. There are 14 tribes in the Garou nation, we lost two, and there are offshoots of some of the 14 elsewhere in the world. The lost tribes are the Bunyip and the White Howlers. Due to the machinations of the wyrm we murdered the Bunyip, we failed to see them as who they were, Gaia's servants in a land so foreign to us that we have seen their adaptation as a corruption. What was it? They bred with thylacines, marsupial wolves. Since they died we started to avoid the umbra in Australia, the spirits there hate us for it. The White Howlers never truly died, they serve the Wyrm now as the Dancers of the Black Spiral. They thought they could defeat him and went to fight him in his realm, he corrupted them on their way and when they finally arrived they pledged themselves to him.
The proud fourteen are:
Black Furies, fighting amazons of Gaia. They first appeared when Man decided to subdue Woman and take away her rights. The Furies come from all over now starting with India and ending in South America. They have no male members, no exceptions.
Bone Gnawers, the underdogs of the nation, literally. They live mostly in the cities and keep an eye on those humans who are poor and downtrodden. They know their back yard well, so never try to outrun them on their home turf.
Children of Gaia are our pacifistic flower sniffing brothers and sisters. They want to love and tolerate the living hell out of the Wyrm, until it collapses and becomes normal again. They are also some the best people to go to when you need healing or want to organize a movement, for they are legendary for both.
Ahh, the Fianna, a bunch of drunk-warrior poets looking for glory and fun. They originally hailed from the British Isles, France and Spain, but now you can find them anywhere, so long as there is alcohol on the table and potential mates around. They do know how to fight, so don't think about any stupid challenges.
The Get of Fenris are the surly Germanic brothers to the Fianna, both tribes have a happy history filled with inter tribal conflict and bloodshed. They like to party less and fight more, in fact they often combine those two. They hailed from Scandinavia and Germany at first, but through tribal migrations they also established themselves in England and Northern America.
Glass Walkers are the other tribe living in the city, but contrary to the Gnawers the Glass Walkers live comfortably and in style. They have a great and eerie understanding of technology and are in cahoots with many spirits which defected from the Weaver. Where they started, nobody knows, not even them.
The Red Talons are the only tribe that has only Lupus inside, recently they gained a few Metis due to unforeseen “events”, guess how that happened? They are a very small tribe, but are never outgunned when it comes to fighting the Wyrm. You can find them in the most remote places, if you are willing to die for poking your nose where it doesn't belong.
Shadow Lords try to be two things at once, the sneakiest bastards and the most cunning leaders, sometimes they succeed and sometimes they fail. But what they always do is to be a thorn in the Silver Fang backside, reminding them that top dogs have to have more than just a pedigree. They like to breed with dominant people, so they established themselves in eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Iberian peninsula, where dominance just hangs in the air.
Silent Striders were our Egyptian cousins, they have lost their homeland to the vampires, and during their wanderings they mixed with similar nomadic groups like the Berbers, the Turks and the Mongols. They serve as a messenger tribe, which brings sensitive news from caern to caern, in exchange we support them in any way we can, mostly by throwing whatever they need at them.
Silver Fangs are our leaders, they are the kings and queens of a warrior people. Their name comes from the fact that their coats are silver. They act all like nobles and our betters, though many Tribes have bloodlines of kings in them, most notably the Fianna and the Shadow Lords. They first hailed from Europe, but have spread to America and the Middle East.
Stargazers are the eleventh tribe, they hail from Asia and originated in India and Nepal, many now come from such exotic places like San Francisco or Seattle. From all the tribes they are the ones that tend to be deeply spiritual and often meditate before taking actions, they also are contemptuous of possessions and money, so good luck finding them having jobs. They also split their membership between the nation and the Hengeyokai Courts in Asia.
The last three tribes are brothers, they all hail from northern America and all hate the rest of us for wrecking their paradise, or at least that's what their most radical members say.
The first native tribe, also called Older Brother, are the Uktena. They made themselves at home in the south-west and mixed with tribes like the Navaho and Apache. They are masters of magic and secrets, it is said they once captured all Wyrm spirits in America into a net and still keep a few captured.
The second and most respected are the Croatan, or Middle Brother. Once they were mixed with tribes of the East like the Algonquin and Powhatan, but after their people died out or mixed with others, they choose the most honorable of the colonists as their mates, now many of them wear the simple garb of the Amish or speak with a Virginian accent. They are some of the greatest judges the Garou Nation has and are known for fair judgments.
The third tribe and Youngest Brother are the Wendigo of the north. Where the Croatan keep to honorable action and the Uktena nurture the wisdom of secrets, the Wendigo revel in the glory of battle. Their hearts are cold and unmoving and only bloodshed in the name of Gaia can move their rage. They are also to only tribe in the whole nation that keeps it's blood untainted by foreigners, no Wendigo has been ever born to a non-native it is said.

So, this have been the Garou. But we are not alone in this world, there are things that are both more and less than us. We all serve Gaia, she is the all-mother, she is life. She has created us to fight for her, we are her warriors, and it's our duty to protect our mother. Under her is the Triat, three mighty beings that are like living ideas that can influence the world.
The Wyld was until recently the only member of the Triat that was still serving Gaia, but no more, it has been driven into a mindless rage, pushed by the other members of the Triat into near extinction. Now the very force of creation spawns forth earthquakes and whirlwinds, plagues of resistant illnesses, all in order to survive and put some sort of “balance” back into the Triat. The problem lies in the fact that like other members of the Triat the Wyld isn't really thinking. It just creates in reaction to its current situation. And so, many innocents die because tsunami waves don't really recognize what's good and what's bad and tornadoes don't avoid hospitals and orphanages. When it turned from Gaia we were given a new prophecy, the tale of the metis, Garou born to two Garou, their birth announced through the Umbra that the Garou would not fall.
The second part of the Triat, the Weaver, has driven itself mad due to her own limited ability to perceive the world. She is order, the desire to have everything in shape and form. She wants to make the whole world ordered, even the other members of the Triat, but how can you make chaos into order without changing reality? She has bound the Wyrm into her webs and almost killed the Wyld through humans, yes, them. They are her greatest servants, their cities are the will of the Weaver made flesh. The humans don't know that though. Through her desire to control and bring order, she got poisoned by the Wyrm, so don't fool yourself by thinking she's not our enemy. At least some of her servants can be reasoned with.
The Wyrm is the last member of the Triat. He is entropy, the balancer of scales. He ends order through destruction so that chaos can create something new. At least he should do that, now he is just a power of corruption and destruction. He is trying to destroy the Weaver's webs that bind him, so that he can become himself again. But how can you return to what you were, after an eternity in a prison of your own rage? He kills the Wyld with every oil spill, he hurts the Weaver through making humans miserable through the soulless corporations he corrupted. But it's not enough, so he rages some more and we face his minions trying to stop the tide of destruction that threatens to kill us all and destroy Gaia itself. Among all three he is our greatest opponent. And our greatest hope, for if he frees himself we may be able to balance the scales.

Croatan

Kinfolk: While before the Croatan chose as kinfolk the tribes of the Mississipi and the eastern Seaboard, now they prefer to mix with people who have proven themselves honorable in the eyes of the tribe. Among them are the Amish and other Mennonites, also the Quakers (but surprisingly not the Shakers, not that any are left in the world). Many freed slaves and descendants of old native tribes are kinfolk, black natives compose a large group within the tribe. Most surprisingly a group of Rastafari was recently accepted as kinfolk, all according to omens sent by Turtle.

Territory: The Croatan are still an north American tribe, their roots are strongest in the east and along the great rivers. While they share many caerns now they still keep several closed to any but their closest allies.

Camps:
-Friends of Gaia – many garou believe that collateral damage is acceptable, or at least cannot be avoided in all cases. Not so the Friends of Gaia. They refuse to sacrifice a single innocent life when fighting against the enemies of Gaia. Their vehemence often turns into creating elaborate plans to destroy only those who are beyond cleansing.
-Splintered Shell – the majority of the Croatan has little to no native blood in their veins. The Splintered Shell represents those that are still native and those who try to preserve the ancient traditions of the native Croatan.
- Lions of the Sun – the smallest camp connects those who believe that the corrupt world of man has to be shunned and the purity of spirit upheld. To achieve this the Lions hunt through the Umbra and destroy spirits threatening the tellurian.
- Twice-Born – the garou of the twice-Born see the first change as a second birth and the induction into the nation as a second baptism. They do not believe however that being garou absolves them from the duties imposed by the first birth and baptism. They fight excess, pride and arrogance with a calm heart. They lead those who stray from the righteous path back, or banish them from the nation if they refuse.

Listen! For we shall speak, of our houses and our clans! Of bloodlines unbroken, stepped in tragedy and glory! Of light and darkness entwined!
Behold! The truth as it is presented, uncorrupted by the triat! We are the lords of the nation! We are the princes and kings!

Silver Fang Houses:

House Thunderheart – Holland, Belgium, Burgundy, Rhineland, New England
Totem: Harrier
House Thunderheart is the least royal of all the houses. It has tenuous links to the nobility of the old world. Instead they see coin as the maker of kings. For them it is the wealthy industrialist who represents nobility, and they have proven this by marrying and breeding with all the important mercantile families on both continents. It has not always been so for in old times it was House Thunderheart which ruled the Frankish Empire. But they quickly learned that it is not the crowned head which rules, but the one one who can pay all the troops. Never go against them for they can bury you under a mountain of money.
Their totem is the Harrier, an unremarkable bird known for its wisdom and caution. House Thunderheart learned many lessons by listening to the advice given by their totem, and they have profited greatly by it. In addition, harrier's gifts allowed them to become skilled merchants and deal makers.

House Twilight Sun – Iberia, Central and Southern America
Totem: Merlin/Forest Falcon
Twilight Sun members are like the Shadow Lords themselves. Never trust them, for they like to twist the words of others. They have chosen well in their breeding efforts and many can claim descent from the royal families of the Aztecs and the Incas. Others descend from the Spanish grandees. In both cases their tongues are as sharp as their claws. They can turn your friends against you and your allies into foes. Luckily they're on our side.
Merlin watches over them as their patron, lending swift cunning to members of the house. In the new world the Forest Falcon has adopted the house and teaches them how to listen and wait in hiding while their enemies blunder about.

House Rageclaw – Anatolia, Caucasus, Greece
Totem: Sparrow Hawk
Werewolves of house Rageclaw can look back at a history of emperors and kings. Their roots go back to the Hittite Empire, an ancient time indeed when compared with other houses. Their traditionalist outlook makes them one of the most conservative of all Silver Fang houses, they prefer to take change in small measures instead of adapting at once. Their only concern now is the fact that monarchy as they knew it is dead in their unstable region, preserving their bloodlines is paramount to a house that has seen the rise and fall of ancient empires.
The Sparrow Hawk is the chosen totem of house Rageclaw, its hardy and courageous nature fits well with members of the house. And just like the Sparrow Hawk is a master of hunting other birds, members of house Rageclaw are masters of fighting other werewolves.

House Snow Hunt – Scandinavia, Russia, Siberia
Totem: Gyrfalcon
House Snow Hunt has a rich history of wolf kings, no other house has mingled its blood with wolves to such extent as the Snow Hunt did. Homid kingship interested them so late that they almost didn't attain it, but in their perseverance they created some of the longest lasting lines. They still possess ties with remaining Scandinavian monarchies and a link to the Russian ones. But their greatest asset lies in the unbroken lines of wolves who live so far away from humans that they need not fear corruption.
The Gyrfalcon is like the Snow Hunt a pure and noble totem. The largest of falcons despises carrion and respects only those who like him maintain themselves above the commoners. This forces his chosen to be a cut above the rest.

House Grey Mist – Great Britain, Ireland, Southern USA
Totem: Buzzard/Cooper's Hawk
The two-faced house Grey Mist is as grasping as it is effective. Split in the middle by the ocean, it rules its lands by adhering to the old ways. From the beginning the leaders of house Grey Mist have combined mystical traditions with a blend of pragmatism that tied them to the land. To this day they keep large estates which are the source of their wealth and power. The Caerns they protect are safe from any attempt of takeover, because beside claws they are often located on private land owned by a Silver Fang noble.
Just as the house Grey Mist is divided between the old and the new world so is their totem. In the old world the Buzzard watches over the house, a potent symbol of skill at hunt and a protector of both forests and fields. In the new world the Cooper's Hawk watches over the house, lending his skills at ambush and the ability to adapt to his chosen people.

House Bloodmoon – South Germany, Bohemia, Hungary
Totem: Eagle
For a long time two houses have defined the way we looked upon kingship, House Sun Heart has fallen but House Bloodmoon lives on. No other house has bound itself to so many lines, no other has tried to. From the time they ruled the invading goths they were always at the front of events. When Rome burned and house Twin-Wolf has almost fallen, to the trenches of Verdun, the Bloodmoons were there. Recent history hasn't been kind to them, for they did too little to stop the enemy in their homelands. Now they try to redeem themselves and strike with fury against the enemies of the nation. No other house craves war as much as Bloodmoon does, but that's what happens when you wish to rule warriors.
Eagle has protected and inspired Bloodmoons from the very beginning. Not only is he the symbol of kingship, he is also an omen of war, something the Bloodmoons love.

House Twin-Wolf – Italy, Balkans
Totem: Kestrel
The tragedy of house Twin-Wolf lies not in their history but in the fact that their chosen mates often proved too weak to rule. No matter how hard they tried to maintain kingship there was always an external force which thwarted them. Their greatest realm, the Roman Empire collapsed into itself. Their attempts to rebuild brought them into conflicts with other houses, from Bloodmoon to Sun Heart and even with Rageclaw. While their plans have not blossomed to provide them with fruit they desired it has tempered them. No other house is so inured to hardship and defeat, no other house keeps going after even hope has fled. Others agree that if apocalypse comes it will be a Twin-Wolf king that will lead the nation, for he or she will be the only one able to still think clearly.
Kestrel has chosen its house well, for a bird used to patient hunting the Twin-Wolf house embodied the perfect choice. Kestrel's chosen are keen observers and patient hunters who can wait for a long time until an opportunity presents itself.

House Stormfang – Western USA
Totem: Prairie Falcon
In a family there is always the odd cousin who no one can understand, among the Silver Fangs it is House Stormfang. In the beginning it was just a subset of House Bloodmoon, less brutal, more open and creative. But when Bloodmoon started moving with its kin the Stormfangs just stayed put, they adopted the new arrivals as their own. When their kin moved, they waved goodbye to them and sought mates elsewhere. They always preferred to choose new kin than to tie themselves to one group. When the west of the USA opened they were the first to pack up and leave Europe. No one has ever understood why, the kings and queens of House Stormfang never explained themselves. Now the Stormfangs have been a fixture of the western caerns for a long time, their mercurial characters blending well with the local garou population. For all its appearances the Stormfangs have finally found a permanent home.
From all of the Falcon's brood the Prairie Falcon is the most aggressive one, when others wait he attacks. His patronage of the Stormfangs surprised everyone, as they were like night and day to each other. But this pairing has given both sides what they needed, and from the looks of it both have prospered.

House Ghost Star- India, Afghanistan, Iran
Totem: Falconet
The Ghost Star house is the most distinct house among the Silver Fangs, because of their deep spiritualism it exists half in the umbra and half in the tellurian. They are known to undertake long umbral quests to find tools that can be used in our fight and very few garou can match their knowledge about the spirit realms. For all their mysticism they are quite pragmatic since they have seen the rise and fall of many kingdoms. They know that their blood will always remain pure as long as they stay true to their mission.
The Falconet is the smallest living falcon in the world, but there is no other in Falcon's brood who takes better care of its family. Because of that those who choose Falconet as their totem are some of the greatest caretakers and teachers the nation has ever seen.

House Great Sky - Canada, Midwest USA
Totem: Red-tailed Hawk
House Great Sky emerged from the ruins of House Sun Heart, the battered remains of the French Silver Fangs escaping the revolution and later those who belonged to other fallen monarchies. Its birthplace was the new world and as such they hold themselves to be the most modern of all houses, even though they still cling to a system of nobility. They scattered themselves over vast distances and created domains that dwarfed their previous possessions. And they did something that shocked others when they adapted to living in city caerns, living as close to humans as is possible.
Like its chosen house the Red-tailed hawk loves human cities, he lives among the tall skyscrapers as if they were mountains. His adaptability knows no limits as he is willing to catch anything his chosen home has to offer. His children are as adaptable as he is and can make themselves at home anywhere they choose.

House Sky Feather - Tibet, Central Asia,
Totem: Saker Falcon
The nomad kings of house Sky Feather know that they are the smallest house in existence, they also know that from all the houses they have the best chance to thrive again. No other house exists in a region that is so likely to return to old traditions and habits. People here have not been brainwashed by the weaver and can be counted upon to respect and heed nobility. The fact that Sky Feather rules over places that are barely more than wastelands and mountains is of a secondary problem. It's not like they need money in lands that can still be ruled by sheer might.
The Saker Falcon is dying, the species is being hunted by poachers who sell live birds to be trained as hunting animals. The spiritual drain marks the Sky Feather Fangs in a way that few can understand. The valiant efforts to reverse the situation have not brought any change and only time will tell if the totem can be saved.

House Falcon's Tear – Arabia, Horn of Africa and Nile
Totem: Peregrine Falcon
The divided house Falcon's Tear is perpetually torn between its two ruling fractions. One of them, the house of the desert, wishes to adapt kingship to modern times by loosely interpreting traditions. The other, the house of the mountain, keeps to rigid formality and wishes to preserve it for ever. The conflict is superposed upon the political map, as both groups try to influence the rulers of their countries. Both sides however fail to see that their conflict only supports the enemies of the nation.
The peregrine falcon has barely survived until now, his survival is not secure though. His children are squabbling but he knows that by teaching them they will one day learn to combine both modernity and tradition into one.

House Dust Mirage - North Africa
Totem: Barbary Falcon
No other house is like the House Dust Mirage. They look and act like any other house on the surface, but deep within they keep one of the most powerful secrets of kingship. The illusion they maintain is necessary, for if others learned what they keep hidden they would cast all silver fangs out of the nation. Their secret has been handed down from generation to generation , through wealth and poverty, through war and peace. Their sole role among the houses is to maintain it, so that it can radiate through all lines and houses and keep them safe.
The Barbary Falcon is a close cousin of the Peregrine, it is smaller and better adapted to the harsh environment of its home. Just like its house the Barbary falcon looks and acts like his cousin, but deep inside he is very different and some might say finicky. The packs who follow Barbary falcon are masters of social adaptation and know how to look like they belong while keeping themselves safe.

Shadow Lord clans:

Dark Forest Clan – Eastern Balkans
The favored children of the grandfather. This clan breeds exclusively with the people of the Carpathians. It is said that all other clans are offshoots of this one. Keepers of the Sept of Storms.

Mountain Sky Clan – Western Balkans, Austria
A mixed clan made out of the lords living in the former Austrian part of Austria-Hungary. Obsessed with intrigue and ability, creators of the Shadow Code. Keepers of the Sept of the Falling Sky.

Harsh Sun Clan – Iberia
Previously the most influential clan in existence, influenced the spread of the European colonization. Non-slavic, made out of native Iberians. Responsible for the creation of three other clans in the new world. In constant conflict with House Twilight Sun.

Feather Snake Clan – Mexico
Wind Crag Clan – South America
Glorious Sun Clan – Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay
The child-houses of clan Harsh Sun. The Feather Snake clan tries to rescue Bat from the Wyrm. Wind Crag has recently ended the war in the Amazon and builds ties to the local Fera. Glorious Sun is besieged by the vampires and has sustained severe losses during the Culling of Blood.

White Rock Clan – Greece, Southern Balkans
Primary Judges of Doom clan, their caern the Hades sept is located in the lands of the clan. Relatively young and made out of descendants of the Slavic settlers that came in the medieval times.

Wild Field Clan – Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania
The most democratic clan, the only one which uses voting to determine their direction. In addition it is the largest in Europe. Some of the best Klaive duelists hail form this clan. Population made out of predominantly western Slavs with assimilated foreign additions.

Hengeyokai Clans:
Fallen Petals Clan – Japan
Masters of industry, the Fallen Petals clan has abandoned the samurai code and instead tries to fight the weaver with its own tools.

Three Mountains Clan – Ryukyu
Overlooked by many the Three Mountain clan is smallest but devoted to the ideals of crow. They serve as advisers to many hengeyokai courts and are known for their friendly advice and hospitality.

Flower Blade Clan – Korea
Scholar-warriors preferring to fight openly to better terrify their enemies. The only clan obsessed with pure breed and appearance, going so far as to use kidnapping and brainwashing techniques to acquire mates.

Black Jade Clan - China
Black Jade clan has managed the impossible, they actually infiltrated the lower rungs of the Chinese administration. This gives them an edge when trying to fight the massive Wyrm presence in China. They are also the only Hengeyokai clan not made out of a single ethnic group.

The Lie of the false Phoenix

The first sign: “I saw the decimation of our kin. Hunted beyond hunting, death beyond death, to the last one. There were no more children, or grandchildren, or fathers, or mothers. This was the first Sign Phoenix gave to to me, that the Children of the Weaver, the Humans, would give to us, The Garou.”

It happened and it didn't. We are still here and with the appearance of the Metis the pendulum swings.

The second sign: “I saw the Children of the Weaver birthing. A great tide of Humans, rising. I saw more and more, until Gaia groaned at having to carry them all. Their houses overrunning, their rakes raping, their hands clawing at the parched earth, trying to feed from Her. This was the second Sign of the last days, that the Phoenix Showed me, that the Humans would do.”

Unarguably, this is true.

The third sign: “So many. So many children. So many Humans. And they Fell against each other, one to one, and the Wyrm brought forth corruption and gave each a measure. And the strange Fire I saw. out of control, the great Plume Rising over the wilderness, spreading death where ever it shone, in the dark and cold land. And I heard the agony of the Seas as She keened, for some drunken fool had poured a lake of black death out upon her.“

Yes and yes. Trinity test site and Exxon Valdez.

The fourth sign: “The Wyrm grew powerful; its wings fanned the breezes of decay. It spread its diseases and they were horrible: the Herd became afflicted with diseases of the head and the blood. Children were born twisted. Animals fell sick and no one could cure them. In these final days, even the Warriors of Gaia could not escape the palsied talons of the sickness-bringing deathbird.”

Yes, yes and a big NO. We aren't sick, we aren't weak. Our gifts still heal our kin.

The fifth sign: “I saw other Plumes rising like death-spears towards the beautiful sky. piercing it, letting Father Sun burn and parch Gaia. The air grew hot; even in the darkness of Winter it was warm. The plants withered in the sun. A cry of pain and disease arose from the dying forests; as one the relations cried tears of mourning.”

This one is tragically true.

The sixth sign: “In these last days, Gaia shakes in rage. Fire boils from the depths. Ash shrouds the sky. The Wyrm skulks in the shadows made by these...and rears to strike. The old ones are gone; the Guardians of the pathways and the Crossroads are finished. In these final days, the sixth Sign will make itself known in the Packs that form. Each Pack will have unto itself a Quest, a Sacred Journey it must perform. Such is the will of Gaia.“

Bullshit and shenanigans mates. It's not Gaia that shakes but an out of control Wyld. Questing packs do form, but come on! They were a fixture of the nations for how long now?

And this fucking tidbit: “And I saw the Sky turn black, and the moon was as blood.”

The undereducated yokel who wrote this knew nothing of lunar eclipses.

The seventh sign: “The Apocalypse. The final days of the world. The Moon was swallowed by the Sun, and it burned in his belly. Unholy fires fell to the ground, burning us all, twisting us and making us vomit blood. The Wyrm had made itself manifest in the towers and the rivers and the air and the Land, and everywhere its children ran rampant, devouring, destroying, calling down curses of every kind. And the Herd ran in fear. And the Dark Ones, Children of the Wyrm, crawled from their caves and walked the streets in daylight.”

A big fucking nope. The moon is still there. No unholy fires and bloody vomiting.

And now a question to the wise, where the hell is the Culling of Blood? No mention of the Cleansing? No Metis? Who pulled the fucking wool over our eyes? Who had the gall to trick us? Not the Nuwisha, that's for sure. The Wyrm? Why would he? The Weaver? Close but not yet. Think.

About the Fera

There are two breeds of the Fera, the other skinchangers, which treat us in a friendly manner.
The first are the Corax wereravens, they serve as Gaia's eyes and scout the world for signs of dangers. When they visit a caern it's not to just gossip, but to give us a heads up about something we might have missed. They do this because they are horrible warriors, their war form is awkward and they rarely use it. The only enemy they can fight better than us are vampires, Corax are the children of Helios and have gifts that can summon sunlight even during the night.

The other breed are the Nuwisha, the werecoyotes. They are our cousins and we share a lot of similarities. But don't mistake them for a lesser versions of us, they serve a different purpose. They are Gaia's laughter, they exist solely to teach other breeds and to temper their inner fires. They are also some of the greatest umbral travelers and have seen things we can never imagine.

Next one are the Gurahl, the werebears are divided along racial lines. Almost every Bear species is a separate tribe. They are healers and caretakers, but there are very few left. We killed many of them in the war of rage but even more died at the hands of the humans. They live solitary lives which makes them vulnerable, if the fought in packs they would be unstoppable.

The gurahl are not the largest of the Fera, this achievement goes to the Mokole, werelizards serving as our mother's memory. They remember the days when dinosaurs walked the land and they ruled the world as the dragon kings. At least that's what they say. They are rare where we live and strong where we rarely venture, this has protected them from our own ignorance. They carry a great taboo against breeding with each other, instead of children such unions create ghosts of vengeance.

The smallest of the Fera are the Ratkin, wyld-mad terrorist tasked with the culling of humans. They are on the brink of becoming our enemies, since they not only failed at their task but also move more and more toward becoming the wyld's willing servants and lackeys. We cannot allow them to get their paws on weapons of mass destruction, we must not look away as they plan strikes that would harm our kin. The moment they overstep Gaia's mandate we will show them that the Garou are still the greatest fighters on earth!

The werespiders are a vexing lot, we aren't certain they serve Gaia but they sure do not serve the triat. The Ananasi are a cold and emotionless bunch, and they tend to live apart of all the other fera. Sometimes their plots lead them to act against our enemies and we welcome their support. But other times, they get in the way. Just don't underestimate them.

When it comes to secrets you will find that the Bastet werecats have a nose for them. They are even more splintered than we are, just like the Gurahl they are divided among the large cat species but unlike them they aren't close to each other. To describe them all is an impossibility, they are all individuals who like cats are wont to walk their own path. But one thing is certain in dealing with them, they will try to stick their noses where they don't belong. Luckily for us they tend to live in places we don't.

In dark Africa live the Ajaba, werehyenas and sworn enemies of the werelions. They are Gaias warriors just like us but don't think we are similar. The Ajaba are scary, they are battle mad psychopaths who are jacked up on testosterone. Even their females are more manly than us. They know no honor, they don't care for glory, they just kill.

There are two of the Fera we know very little about. The first are the Kitsune, the asian werefoxes stick to the beast courts like rice to the bowl and so we don't meet. Maybe they are like the Nuwisha? The others are the Rokea weresharks, now why would Gaia create them is beyond me, it could be they are like us or serve another purpose. Wolves don't swim so we leave them alone.

This sums up the list of living Fera. The extinct list is sadly quite large. The most recent additions are the Camatzotz, werebats and the umbral version of the Corax, the Nagah, weresnakes and keepers of art, the Grondr, wereboars who cleansed the face of our mother from taint, and the Apis, werebulls who made sure the other Fera bred true.
There are also legends about others, wereeagles and wereotters among them. Who knows how many Fera were made by Gaia?
